Biographical Information
I have a wealth of experience as an Orthotist stretching a 20 year career. In 2016 I began researching outcomes of scoliosis bracing. This led to the development of a specialist service in 2017, providing a successful MDT approach to the conservative management of scoliosis in private and NHS contracted clinics. My clinical input is focused on asymmetric rigid 3D bracing, and I have developed this skill since 2017, ensuring these braces are both effective and wearable, in this field I have the most experience in assessment, fitting and supporting patients in cheneau-style bracing within the UK. I have strong interest in 3D CAD CAM technology to aid standards in brace design and I also specialise in alternative orthotic interventions for non-idiopathic scoliosis and I have continued to support peer research with data collection and support ongoing university projects.
My objective in every case is; to provide each patient and their family with effective alternatives to surgery; to provide evidence-based advice to enable informed choices about their treatment plans; to work seamlessly with other health-care professionals to achieve goals and objectives relative to each individual and to continue to learn, develop and contribute to this specialist field of orthotics in the conservative management of scoliosis.
